Osborn Residence (Phoenix, AZ)
The Osborn Residence is a complete renovation and addition of a ranch house originally built in 1957. This 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom house is right in the heart of Arcadia, a charming neighborhood in Phoenix. The renovation focused on opening up small, closed rooms into an open floor plan, ideal for entertaining. The existing garage was converted into a master suite, and a new volume for a 2-car garage was added.
A brand new kitchen takes center stage in the great room with a waterfall edge island. The kitchen windows fold away to create an open pass-through with bar seating on the other side. Perfect for parties and occasional entertaining. Sliding doors connect the living room and dining room with the outdoors, enjoying great views of the backyard.
All the structure on the great room was exposed - steel posts and beams define the spaces and add an industrial look to the house. Those were painted in black to contrast with the white ceiling joists and walls. A reclaimed wood barn door connects the great room with the master suite. Once in the master suite, a reclaimed brick wall create an eye-catching wall behind the bed. The master bedroom is connected to a private patio with multi-slide doors.
